Together, by providing expert pediatric specialty care at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, we are improving access to specialty care, so families have less need to travel, not more.
There are no changes to the existing Trinity Health Oakland Hospital medical staff planned related to the new joint venture. In the future, the goal is to make additional U-M pediatric specialty care options available locally in Pontiac.
The new affiliation does not impact Trinity Health Oakland Hospital’s relationships with insurers. Trinity Health Oakland Hospital will continue to contract with payers on behalf of the pediatric specialty clinics offered through the joint operating agreement. Inpatient and outpatient services provided through Trinity Health Oakland Hospital and University of Michigan Health C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital under the joint operating agreement will be billed for by Trinity Health.
Most care you receive through providers at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital will be managed through
Trinity Health’s electronic medical records systems. U-M Health providers can access medical records for patients whose care they are involved in seamlessly through the provider portal.
Yes. Trinity Health Oakland Hospital remains an independent hospital with a focus on providing care for patients in the tri-county area. U-M Health’s goal in collaborating with Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is to expand access to advanced pediatric specialty care in these communities. Philanthropic support to Trinity Health Oakland Hospital will continue to be invested in providing the highest quality, compassionate health care to children and families in the tri-county area.
