Stephanie Kukora, MD is an assistant professor in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, where she completed her general pediatrics residency and neonatology fellowship. She received her certificate in pediatric bioethics through the Kansas City Children’s Hospital, under the instruction of Dr. John Lantos in 2014. Her research interests include parent/clinician communication and shared decision-making in antenatal consultation and tracheostomy decisions. She also does work on education of medical trainees with advanced communication skills using improv theater exercises. She serves as a member of the Pediatric Ethics Committee as well as the Brandon NICU and Mott Hospital bereavement committees, and directs the global health partnership in neonatology between the University of Michigan and St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
