Marcia Leonard received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Michigan. She was one of the earliest advance practice nurses employed within the Department of Pediatrics and has been working in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology since 1978.
Ms. Leonard is the Director of the Pediatric Cancer Survivorship Program at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, as well as the coordinator of the Long Term Follow-up Clinic for childhood cancer survivors. She is a member of the T cell leukemia and the T cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma study protocol group, as well as the nursing committee and late effects study groups of the Children's Oncology Group, an international consortium of treatment centers dedicated to curing childhood cancer through clinical trials.
Ms. Leonard has expertise in fertility counseling and preservation for adolescent and young adult cancer patients, and is the nurse coordinator for the Fertility Counseling and Gamete Cryopreservation Program.
