Dr. Rabah received her M.D. from Damascus University School of Medicine (Damascus, Syria) in 1980 with honors. She completed residency training in Anatomic Pathology at Booth Memorial Medical Center/New York University Medical Center, Flushing, New York (1982-1985), followed by a Pediatric Pathology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh from 1985-1987. Dr. Rabah is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and Pediatric Pathology.
She served as Director of the Department of Pathology at Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem from 1987-1994. In 1995, she joined the faculty of Wayne State University School of Medicine as Assistant Professor. She was promoted to rank of Associate Professor in 2002 and to Professor in 2009. She worked as an associate pathologist at Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit (1994-2009). She was appointed as Director of the Pediatric Pathology rotation at Wayne State in 1999 and Program Director for the Pediatric Pathology fellowship in 2007.
Dr. Rabah joined the faculty of the University of Michigan Health System in July 2009 as Professor and Director of Pediatric Pathology. Since 2010 she established the Pediatric Pathology Fellowship Program at the University of Michigan and is the Program Director. In 2011 she became the Director of Pediatric and Perinatal Pathology at the University of Michigan. She is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, and she was invited on numerous occasions to deliver extramural, regional, national, and international presentations.
She served on numerous Departmental, Health System, and University Committees such as the Institutional Review Board (IRBMED) and the Advisory Committee on Clinical Track Appointments and Promotions (CLINACAP). In 2013-2014 she served as a member of the ACGME milestones, pediatric pathology fellowship working group. She is a member of the Board of Trustees and a Representative Ambassador in the Michigan Society of Pathologists since 2012. She is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) RISE committee in the Pediatric Pathology Fellow Exam section. She served on several committees of the Society for Pediatric Pathology, and currently she is the Chair of the Fellowship Committee.
