Watercolor Mosaic Painting

Create your own abstract masterpiece with items you likely have around the house!

What You’ll Need:

  • Canvas or poster board
  • Watercolor paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Cup with water and paper towels (to wash and dry your paintbrush in between colors)
  • Painter’s tape or masking tape
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Step 1: Use the scissors to cut different lengths of painter’s tape and start placing them on your canvas. Cross them over each other, put some diagonally, horizontally or vertically (see photo above).

Step 2: Once you like your design and the shapes you have created, take your watercolor paints and start painting in the blank/white spots in between the tape strips (see photo above).

Step 3: Let your artwork full dry.

Step 4: Once fully dry, start removing the tape from your canvas and enjoy the beautiful mosaic piece of art you have created!
