Owl Lunch Bag Puppet

Let your owl soar across the room with this fun craft! Make other lunch bag animal puppets and put on your own puppet show.

What You’ll Need:

  • Brown paper lunch bag
  • Colored construction paper
  • Markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:

Child putting owl puppet together to create your owl’s face and stomach
Step 1: Cut out a variety of shapes from the construction paper to create your owl’s face and stomach. We made eyebrows using long thin triangles, circle pieces for eyes and a big oval for its stomach. Use glue to attach the pieces to the front side of the paper bag with the bottom panel as the owl’s face (see above photo).

Step 2: Cut out two wings from the construction paper and attach them to the back of the bag. Cut out two legs and feet. You can make the legs long like ours and fold them into an accordion for extra texture and fun! Attach your feet to the bottom of the legs and attach the legs to the inside of the opening of the bag (see above photo).

Step 3: Use markers or crayons to draw feathers on the owl’s body and any other decorations you would like.

Step 4: Carefully put your hand inside the paper bag and bring your owl to life as it flies across the room!
