Gravity Defying Tennis

Defy gravity while playing this homemade version of tennis. Don’t let the ball crash back to Earth!

What You’ll Need:

  • Two sturdy paper plates
  • Two jumbo popsicle/wooden craft sticks
  • Tape
  • Small, light ball (we used a soft, cloth ball) or balloon

Instructions:

Child holding gravity plate with popsicle stick attached to green plate.

  • Step 1: Tape each popsicle stick to the lower section and back of each paper plate to create a handle for each paper plate “racket” (see photo above).

Child hitting the ball back and forth using your rackets.

  • Step 2: Take one racket and give one to a friend to play the game together. Take turns hitting the ball back and forth using your rackets. Don’t let the ball crash back to Earth, or the other person gets a point!
  • Step 3: The first person to earn 10 points wins!
