Let your creativity, and your new dragonfly, soar! Learn how to use household items to decorate your dragonfly. After attaching it to a clothespin, you can use it to decorate and hold photos, artwork, or you name it!
Any age can paint and decorate, but younger children may need an adult’s help with cutting out the dragonfly and attaching it to the clothespin.
What You’ll Need:
- Dragonfly template
- Pencil
- Assorted paints, acrylic or washable
- White cardstock
- Cotton swaps, cotton balls or other small toiletry/household items
- Paintbrushes
- A paper plate or disposable surface for your paints
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Clothespin
Instructions:
Step 1: Print out your dragonfly template on a piece of printer paper and cut it out. Trace it on your cardstock.
Step 2: Pour out the paint colors of your choice on the disposable plate.
Step 3: Create and design your dragonfly by dipping the household items in the various paints and using them to stamp and paint your dragonfly’s wings. You can also use a paintbrush to paint the center body of the dragonfly.
Step 4: After the paint has dried, cut out your dragonfly.
Step 5: Using craft glue, attach the clothespin to the back of your dragonfly.
Step 6: Use your new dragonfly to decorate and hold photos or your art masterpieces!
