The Patient & Family Centered Care Program at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is based on a realization that greater success comes from working together. By assessing patient and family needs, physicians and other care team members work together with families to improve the patient and family experience at the hospital. By volunteering in PFCC programs, you will be charged with sharing your personal experiences, opinions and advice so that we can create ideal patient-family experiences.
There are many opportunities for volunteer involvement in PFCC. There are councils and committees that operate hospital-wide and some that are unit or diagnosis specific, as well as opportunities for teens. Volunteers may act as mentors, e-advisors or storytellers that share their story and experience with faculty and staff at Mott Children’s Hospital.
