Special toys and activities can go a long way toward making a hospital stay or a procedure a less stressful, more enjoyable experience for a child. We are grateful for our community’s support through donations of new toys, crafts and other items for children of all ages.
These items are used in various places throughout the hospital, including the child life playrooms, inpatient rooms, family center, outpatient clinics, emergency unit, and radiology clinic. Your donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated!
We are currently not accepting any stuffed toys or knit hats and afghans due to the large amounts we currently have on hand.
Items commonly in high demand include Legos, musical toys for toddlers, character toys (superheroes, Paw Patrol, Mickey Mouse, etc), Crayola crayons, markers and colored pencils..
Our “wish list” contains an extensive selection of donations we recommend to help us meet the needs of our patients in different age groups.
We also keep the following online gift registries up-to-date with specific items requested by our activity therapists and patients:
*Searchable under First Name: Mott, Last Name: Hospital
Before purchasing a toy or other gift in-kind, please carefully review our Toy and Gift Safety Guidelines.
Community donors often want to help make the winter holidays special for the patients and families at Mott. For information on how to support Mott patients during the winter holiday season, be sure to visit our Holiday Donations page.
The Giving Library supports Mott patients and their families by providing a diversion from the stresses of hospitalization via the exciting, imaginative and educational world of books. Learn how you can support our Giving Library.
Due to our limited storage space, we also gratefully accept gift cards. Gift cards enable patients and families who are staying at the hospital to obtain the items they most need. They also provide us the flexibility to make “on-demand” toy purchases, used as gifts and distraction items, throughout the year. Popular gift cards include Target, Meijer, and iTunes and restaurants that deliver to the hospital, such as Jimmy John’s, Domino’s Pizza and Cottage Inn.
Our Community Relations team manages all in-kind donations to the hospital. Gifts in-kind and gift cards can be mailed to:
