CT

CT (computed tomography) Scan

During a CT (or computed tomography) scan, your child will lay still on a table that slides in and out of the CT machine, which looks like a giant donut. Depending on what part of the body is being scanned, patients slide through the scanner either head or feet first. Tests can take from five to 30 minutes. The technologist will talk to your child throughout the exam, explaining what's happening step-by-step and helping to distract them and feel as comfortable as possible during their exam/procedure.
