Neuromuscular Disorders (Pediatric)

The Pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic made up of the following specialists:

  • Genetic Counseling
  • Neurology
  • Pediatric Pulmonology
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
  • Physical Therapy

The clinic provides diagnostic assessment, treatment and therapy recommendations, orthotic design, and genetic counseling for pediatric patients with (suspected or confirmed) neuromuscular conditions. Neuromuscular disorders include the muscular dystrophies, spinal muscle atrophy, the congenital myopathies, myasthenia gravis, Friedreich ataxia, and inherited and acquired neuropathies. 

The clinic is sponsored in part by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). It is held each Friday morning, in the PRC Building at UMHS.
