Skin Diseases (Pediatric Dermatology)

It is no secret that children’s skin is different from that of adults, with distinct features, developmental needs and considerations for diagnosis and treatment.

The Pediatric Dermatology program at C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital provides compassionate, family-centered patient care for children, newborn through age 17, in a relaxed, child-friendly setting.

Our program provides age appropriate evaluation and management of common and uncommon disorders affecting skin, hair and nails, with the goal of minimizing discomfort. We offer specialized treatments such as pulsed dye laser therapy for vascular lesions of the skin and phototherapy, as well as diagnostic procedures, including skin biopsy.

We educate children and their families about skin disease and proper skin care, to support healthy skin throughout their lives.
