The University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital Division of Adolescent Medicine provides developmentally appropriate comprehensive evaluation and treatment for adolescents and young adults with complex health care needs.
Our faculty have specific training and experience in the comprehensive care of adolescents for a range of conditions, including health problems related to eating disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, menstrual problems, and complex chronic illnesses.
In addition to our full-service adolescent health clinic, we participate in a number of multidisciplinary programs at U-M, including the Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program and Gender Services Program.
We also provide medical management consultation alongside other pediatric specialists for adolescents with complex conditions who are currently hospitalized at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and see patients at a number of area schools through the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools initiative
As part of our commitment to advancing the field of adolescent medicine, members of the division participate in a variety of research endeavors, including work involving outcome predictors for recovery from anorexia nervosa, national collaborative quality improvement efforts related to treatment of eating disorders in adolescents, and the promotion of patient centered communication in primary care for adolescents. Additional research involves adolescent use of social media for health promotion and bullying prevention.
