Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes (Pediatric)

Hormones play a major role in how we develop and grow, regulate sugar, metabolize food and so much more. The endocrine system, which includes the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal gland and pancreas, uses these hormones to "communicate" with the body. The Pediatric Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Service at Michigan Medicine evaluates and treats conditions in infants, children, young adults with any condition that fall within the broad areas of endocrinology and metabolism.
