Dr. Dorfman's research interests include the use of cardiac MRI and echocardiography in management of congenital heart disease and assessment of ventricular function in this patient group with the use of those modalities. He is part of an international, multicenter group of pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and engineers who are collaborating to better understand the circulation of single ventricle hearts.
Dr. Dorfman was born and raised in southeast Michigan, and returned home in 2007 after training and working as faculty at Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School. He is co-director of congenital and pediatric cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and attends in the echocardiography laboratory, as well as seeing patients in a general pediatric cardiology clinic.
